What they finally remember is not the editing, not the camerawork, not the performances, not even the story — it's how they felt. - Walter Murch

2010: Technologik

Technologik 2010

“People will never be replaced by machines. In the end, life and business are about human connections. And computers are about trying to murder you in a lake.” – Michael Scott, The Office

My sentiments exactly. Everyone else but me seems swept up in Web 3.X — flashing, twittering, and poking friends, or whatever it is you do on those sites (it all sounds vaguely pornographic to me). This will usually prompt me to unleash a tirade on the virtues of the Amish butter churn.

That said, the start of a new year, in this case a new decade, is a great time to set aside old grudges. In the spirit of the times I’m going to make this the year I try to embrace the interweb. I christen thee, “2010 or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Technology.”

I imagine there will be profanity, there will be tears, and I may lose some hair. But hey, that’s one thing I’ve got to spare. Who knows? Maybe I’ll just build a giant neon pyramid and go technologik on your arsches!

Happy New Year, y’all!

Wait, do you actually own an Amish churn?

I’d like to try this butter.
